He said the rumour that the government was making efforts to recognise Hindi as Nepal’s national language was spread to foil the efforts at amending for the second time the constitution adopted last year.
Senior Nepali Congress leader Nidhi also clarified that the constitution amendment proposal would not have the provision to allow naturalised citizens to hold the country’s top positions.
Addressing the inaugural session of the central general meeting of the Association of Pharmaceuticals Producers of Nepal on Saturday, Nidhi said elections at all the three levels were essential to implement the constitution.
“The government is focused on amending the constitution in a way that is acceptable to all,” he said.
