Poet Prakash Sunuwar’s anthology of poems, titled Aajadi, has been launched amid a ceremony held at the Bimal Smriti Library in Dharan, over the weekend. The anthology was unveiled jointly by Dr Tanka Neupane, poet Bam Dewan, Kunta Sharma, and Purna Bahadur Gurung.
The anthology includes a total of 101 poems penned by Sunuwar, who writes under the nom de plume Nirakar.
Speaking at the event, poet Dewan said, “The poems in the anthology are powerful as they urge the reader to let go of the entrenched ideologies they hold-to escape the chains of dogmas binding them.”
Meanwhile, scholar Neupane noted, “The anthology not only explores the Nepali society and its malpractices, but also muses about the happenings around the world.”
“For example,” Neupane went on, “the anthology includes poems about the wars in Kashmir and Africa and the current events from around the world. Moreover, Nirakar does so with ample use of metaphors, which gives the anthology a disarming candor.”
