Fire destroys 12 homes in Bhojpur

BHOJPUR: A massive fire destroyed 12 houses in Bhojpur Bazaar on Sunday. The fire broke out from the house of one Thir Kumar Portel at around 4:45 pm. The security personnel from Nepal Army, Nepal Police and Armed Police Force were deployed to put out the fire. Police said they were assessing the damage. (PR)


Woman killed in tusker attack

BIRATNAGAR: A 50-year-old woman was killed in an attack of wild elephant at Sharanamati in Jhapa district on Sunday. Police identified the victim as Jhuma Devi Bhattarai of Sharanamati-4. The tusker attacked Bhattarai while she was at Rani Community Forest to collect fodder. (PR) 


23 kg hashish seized

DHANGADI: Police have confiscated 23 kilograms of hashish from Dhangadi-5 in Kailali on Sunday. Police said they recovered a sack-full of hashish hidden inside a hume pipe. (RSS)


Indian man shot dead

INARUWA: An Indian man was found dead in a forest at Prakashpur VDC-1 of Sunsari on Saturday night. Police said the man, Mohammad Siddiqui, had been shot. A bullet shell was recovered from scene. (RSS)  


Two killed in truck accident

RUKUM: Two persons were killed and three others were injured when a truck fell into Rukumgad stream at Rukumkot-9 in Rukum on Sunday. The deceased were identified as Sapana Sunar and Lalbir BK of Salyan. Purnima Sunar of Morabang-3, Arjun BK, 20, of Salyan and Kamal BK of Rukum were injured in the accident. (RSS)
