“We are in the process of accommodating the demands put forth by the Madhesi and Janajati forces. Negotiation is going on with all the parties. We plan to conduct the polls after a statute amendment,” Deuba said at a programme organised in Sanepa on Tuesday to welcome leaders from parties to the NC.
He underscored the need to strengthen the hard-earned democracy by holding the polls on time. On the occasion, three central-level leaders—two from the Maoist Centre and one from the CPN-UML—were inducted into the party. Deuba handed general membership of the party to Maoist central members Jagadish Pal and Paramananda Bhatta, as well as Doti chief of the UML’s youth wing Nilam Saud. NC leader Dilendra Badu urged the party’s rank and file to work towards making the Congress the largest party in the upcoming polls.
