The Department of Transport Management (DoTM) has started taking driving licence applications. The Department of Transport Management (DoTM) has started taking driving licence applications.
The DoTM had stopped accepting application forms in mid-September to make preparation for new rules. The Vehicle and Transportation Management Act (2049) also had to be amended. As many as 600 people applied for two-wheeler licence and 200 for four-wheeler on the first day on Wednesday.
According to new rules, a person who passed written test can appear in trial for three times. Earlier, getting through written exam meant a person could go for trial only once. “The new rules came into effect today after the sixth amendment of Vehicle and Transportation Management Act (2049). We have eased the rules keeping in mind those skilled drivers who make minor glitches while appearing in trial test,” said Tok Raj Pandey, spokesperson for the DoTM.
