Training school operator held on fraud case

According to a DAO official, Rajaram Chaudhary of Udasipur VDC, Kailali, was arrested after he was found running the training institute without CTEVT permission for the last one year.
The institute had enrolled 110 students in Agriculture JTA, Veterinary JTA and computer-IT courses this year alone, investigation revealed.
Sarita Aidi, one of the students, said she and her classmates had no idea that the institute was operating without taking affiliation from the CTEVT.
The DAO said that Chaudhary has collected up to Rs 5.5 million from the students.
He had lied to the students that the institute was recognised by the CTEVT.
After learning that they had been cheated, the students picketed the DAO on Wednesday demanding refund as well as legal action against Chaudhary.
Chief District Officer Govinda Rijal said Chaudhary has been sent to the District Police Office for investigation.
He added that the DAO was planning to launch an investigation into other colleges and training institutes in the district as well.
