PM: consensus imperative for elections
Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal has said that there are challenges in holding the three-tier elections. Addressing an assembly at Kalpabrikshya VDC in Sindhuli on Thursday, PM Dahal said that there is no alternative to unity among all sides. “The government is committed to addressing the Madhes issues,” he said. “Our target is to take the country towards prosperity. That is only possible after resolving the problems faced by Tharu, Janajati, among other communities.”
The PM, who was in the district to lay the foundation stone for the construction of a bridge at Marinkhola connecting Kalpabrikshya with Kapilakot. He said that the government has accorded top priority to big development projects.
At a time when Rs150 billion is lying idle in state coffers, PM Dahal has revealed that his government would soon bring a supplementary budget after consulting with the opposition to speed up works on the large development projects.
