Nov 27, 2016-
Nepali Congress (NC) President Sher Bahadur Deuba has asserted that the constitution amendment proposal will be tabled in Parliament on Sunday.
The NC chief said the amendment proposal would be filed to address the issues over state demarcation, citizenship, representation at the National Assembly on the basis of population, among others.
Addressing a party’s gathering in Birgunj on Saturday, Deuba claimed the statute amendment is a must for the implementation of the new constitution.
“People will punish those political parties who stand against the constitution amendment proposal,” he said, adding that the local body elections would be held soon after the constitution amendment. “Election should be held even in the old structure.”
