At a press meet in Nepalgunj on Monday, Thakur said the Saymutka Loktantrik Madhesi Morcha “cannot welcome an amendment proposal that does not address the demands of the Madhes”. The TMLP is one of the seven constituents of the Morcha. “The Morcha will form its official position after the government registers the proposal in Parliament,” said Thakur, adding that the agitating parties will not agree until the government comes up with 10-province plan with two provinces along the Tarai plains. He even warned of foiling the elections that the government is planning to hold in March-April. Thakur, however, claimed that if the government brings an amendment proposal which addresses all the demands of the Madhes, it will be endorsed in Parliament by required majority even if the CPN-UML votes against it.
