According to a statement issued by the Prime Minister’s Secretariat, US Ambassador Alaina B Teplitz during her meeting with Pm Dahal expressed satisfaction at positive development in Nepal’s peace process. “The US always wants to see peace and progress in Nepal,” the statement quoted Teplitz as saying.
She also assured that the recently held presidential election in US will have no negative impact on Nepal.
PM Dahal had sought to know about the recently held presidential election in the US and the future of Nepalis living there.
During the meeting with Teplitz, PM Dahal expressed confidence that constitution would be implementation through consensus among political parties.
Later, during a meeting between PM Dahal and Sri Lankan Ambassador W Swarnalatha Perera, the prime minister shared that both the countries are enjoying age-old cultural and religious relations for long.
Nepal is ready to work together with Sri Lanka for the development and prosperity of the Saarc region, PM Dahal said. Ambassador Perera extended an invitation to PM Dahal to visit Sri Lanka next year, coinciding with the 60th year of the establishment of diplomatic ties between Nepal and Sri Lanka.
PM Dahal also thanked Perera for Sri Lanka’s support in the post-earthquake reconstruction in Nepal.
