Business community in Bhairahawa condemns murder bid on Neupane

The business community of Bhairahawa, Rupandehi, took out a rally on Wednesday, protesting the Tuesday’s murder attempt on Kul Prasad Neupane, vice-chairman of Siddhartha Chambers of Commerce and Industry. It also submitted a letter to the chief district officer demanding strong action against the persons involved in the attack.
A group of armed men had tried to gun down Neupane at his shop in Siddharthanagar Municipality-6 on Tuesday evening. Neupane survived the attack unhurt.
Police have arrested a suspect in connection to the incident.
The District Police Office has formed a team, headed by Deputy Superintendent of Police Bel Bahadur Pandey, to investigate the incident.
The Rupandehi district chapter of Samyukta Loktantrik Madhesi Morcha (SLMM) also condemned the incident by issuing a statement. The SLMM also criticises some local media for implicating the party in the attack.
