25 arrested after attack on police post in Boudha

Police fired six rounds of rubber bullets and lobbed tear gas shells to bring the situation under control.
Over two dozen persons were arrested in connection with the incident.
According to locals, police had refused to take Raj Kumar Lama, a taxi driver who was found unconscious in a drunken state on Saturday night, to the hospital.
He had died while being taken to Nepal Medical College Hospital in Attarkhel later.
Locals and relatives of Lama on Sunday resorted to attack the police post, accusing police of negligence, which they said resulted in his death.
SP Pradhumna Karki, spokesperson for the Metropolitan Police Circle, Teku, said the attackers set four motorbikes, three private and one belonging to police, on fire.
“Assistant Sub-Inspector Sanjeev Kumar Napit has sustained injuries on his nose. Some of window panes of the police station have been broken,” said SP Karki. “Investigation has been launched into the death of Lama.”
