Rs 70,635 raised for orphaned children
A group of youths in Chitwan has raised Rs 70,635 in a single day for an orphanage by selling tea to locals at Lions Chowk in Narayangad.A group of youths in Chitwan has raised Rs 70,635 in a single day for an orphanage by selling tea to locals at Lions Chowk in Narayangad. The fundraising campaign, “A Cup of Tea”, was launched to help the children of Sano Ghar, an orphanage at Ratna Municipality-13.
The campaign saw an overwhelming participation from the locals who made generous donations to help the orphaned children.
Balgopal Chuke, a social activist, paid Rs 9,125 for 25 cups of tea. He said the money collected by the campaign will help educate and feed the children.
Roshan Khadka, a local resident, said he offered Rs 500 for a cup of tea to help the children in need.
Around 50 people offered between Rs 1,000 to Rs 2,000 to the campaign.
Bimala Shreshta, president of Sano Ghar, said they could not be more pleased with the support the campaign received from the people.
