Nepal on Wednesday condemned the killing of Russian ambassador to Turkey in Ankara.
A Turkish policeman gunned down Russian diplomat Andrei Karlov at the art gallery opening of a show of Russian photography on Monday.
“The government of Nepal condemns the senseless the killing of Andrei Karlov, the ambassador of the Russian Federation to Turkey, on December 19, 2016 in Ankara, Turkey,” the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA) said in a statement on Wednesday.
The government has also conveyed deepest condolences and sympathies to the government of Russian Federation and bereaved family members.
“Such cowardly and criminal act trying to undermine the duty of a diplomat is totally unjustifiable and unacceptable,” the MoFA press release added.
