Deputy leader of CPN-UML Parliamentary Party Subas Nembang said the alliance would announce the details at a press meet on Sunday.
Rastriya Janamorcha leader Chitra Bahadur KC said the meeting decided to obstruct Parliament on Sunday as well in order to mount pressure on the government to withdraw the constitution amendment proposal. KC said the “grand rally” would be organised in Kathmandu to protest against the amendment proposal. The meeting of the bloc would discuss on Sunday ways to manage the march and the mass meet on January 6.
The meeting of the nine-party alliance held at the UML PP office in Singha Durbar was also attended by former minister Biswendra Paswan of the Bahujan Shakti Party. The meeting decided to postpone the rally citing New Year celebrations. The UML has formed a task force under General Secretary Ishwor Pokhrel to make preparations for the mass meeting. The team includes UML Deputy General Secretaries Bishnu Poudel and Ghanashyam Bhusal, Secretaries Prithvi Subba Gurung, Pradip Gyawali, Bhim Acharya, Gokarna Bista and Yogesh Bhattarai, among other leaders.
