Voting begins for Integrity Idol award

Women Development Inspector of Jumla, Bindu Kunwar; Under Secretary at the National Reconstruction Authority Bhisma Kumar Bhusal; Principal of Gulmi-based Siddhababa Higher Secondary School Dor Bikram Shrees; Principal of Bhaktapur-based Bageshwari Higher Secondary School Krishna Dhanchha and Health Assistant at
Dhankuta-based Mainabudhuk Health Post Tara Subedi have been nominated for the award.
The five names have been shortlisted among more than 850 candidates from across the country in the 3rd national campaign, according to organisers Accountability Lab. The organisation working on promoting accountability and transparency has been conducting the event to ‘identify and celebrate Nepal’s most honest government official’.
Head of Panchthar district education Gyan Mani Nepal and Gulmi’s Chief District Officer Pradip Kanel have been honoured as the country’s first and second Integrity Idols.
The winner will be decided by public vote on January 5. Public can cast their votes online and through SMS for their favourite civil servants 24 hours until the deadline.
