Artist Bishwo Raj Parajuli’s solo art exhibition, The Beautiful and the Sublime, is currently on at Art Gallery in Mahendrapool, Pokhara. The exhibition features 52 of the artist’s water-colour paintings.
Speaking to the Post, veteran artist Durga Baral ‘Batsyayan’, who was present at the show, said, “Water-colour is a liberal form of arts. If the artist tries to control the colour, the painting won’t be pronounced.”
Baral added, “I found Parjauli’s artistry has come a long way from what I saw 14 years back. It takes a lot to attain an expertise on the water-colour form.”
Parajuli’s works revolve around motifs such as nature, human tendency, and culture and tradition. When asked to speak about his work, Parajuli said, “I’ll let my works speak for itself. I am rather interested in how the spectators interpret my work.”
A lecturer by profession, Parajuli has been engaged in painting since about two decades.
The current exhibit is organised by Srijansheel Group of Artists and will run through Jan 4.
