The 31st iteration of Juneli Raat, a cultural show, organised by Narayani Kala Mandir, took place on Monday, in Bharatpur. The event saw an overwhelming turn out of audience despite the freezing weather.
The event started at 6 pm with a rendition of the song Paschim Kohi Purbha Ghar by artists from the Kala Mandir. The event then saw a dance performance that featured choreographer Sumit Lama and team. Shortly afterwards, the audience grooved to singer Chaya Piya’s performance, a rendition of Dandaima Laligurans.
Right after the musical act, dancers returned with their performances on songs like Dhaka Topi Dalkiyo. Singer Anita Pariyar also took to stage singing the popular song, Chaubandi Ma Patuki.
The artists who performed at the event are members of the Kala Mandir. The artists were clad in traditional attires and performed endangered folk dances such as Maruni, Kauda, and Sorathi, in a bid to preserve and promote them.
