Deputy Superintendent of Police Dipak Shrestha said Gautam’s body was found hanging from a tree in the forest at Bharatpur Sub-metropolis-1 in Chitwan.
The body was taken to a hospital in Bharatpur for postmortem on Tuesday.
Gautam, who hailed from Parbat district, had told his family and colleagues that he was leaving for Kathmandu for some official work.
His family had filed a missing person’s report at police after learning that he had not reached Kathmandu and the attempts to contact him failed.
Police tracked Gautam based on the call details of his mobile phone that showed
that his number had last established contact with a tower in Muglin.
