Cultural fest in Sarwanam

The fest saw more than two dozen performances by a host of artists from Nepal and India.
The fest showcased diverse dance and music traditions practiced across various Indian states such as Odisha, Maharastra, Madhya Pradesh and Aandhra Pradesh, among others. Majority of artists performed Bharatnatyam, a classical Indian dance form while some performed modern and semi-classical dance forms. While Nepali artists performed popular folk dances.
Speaking about the fest, coordinator of Sarwanam, Raj Shah, said, “Art has no languages or boundaries. The annual fest is organised as an attempt to strengthen cultural ties between the two countries and we hope it also goes on to preserve and promote our unique dance traditions.”
