Buddha plans double daily flights to Janakpur
Buddha Air has said it will add an additional flight on the Janakpur route once the ongoing airport expansion works are completed.Buddha Air has said it will add an additional flight on the Janakpur route once the ongoing airport expansion works are completed.
At present, the carrier conducts daily flights with its 42-seater ATR 42 aircraft on the route.
“As the air seats demand on the route has been increasing due to increased tourist movement, particularly from India, we have decided to add 72-seater ATR 72 on the route,” the airline said in a statement. “Induction of extra flight on the route will also make the ticket price cheaper.”
The cheapest one-way fare, which will be provided in limited numbers, will be Rs2,000.
The airline said that despite increase in tourist numbers, the airport is unable to accommodate aircraft bigger than ATR 42. “For this, the airport fencing works and the construction of turning pad should be completed,” it said.
The Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal has informed that the works will be completed soon as it has already appointed a contractor for the project, the statement added.
