Rastriya Prajatantra Party Chairman Kamal Thapa has alleged that the government has lost its relevance as it could not address the demands of the Madhes-based parties, conduct the elections and work effectively to implement the constitution.
“Although the government’s letter to the Election Commission urging it to prepare for the elections is laudable, the letter is incomplete and contradictory,” Thapa told journalists in Hetauda on Friday. “The letter does not indicate clearly if it is local level or local body elections. It also lacks the exact date for election,” said Chairman Thapa, the leader of a party in the governing alliance. He accused the government of not being enthusiastic about conducting the polls.
Saying that constitution implementation would not be smooth without addressing the issues of Madhes, Thapa said, “PM Pushpa Kamal Dahal does not seem proactive for endorsing the constitution amendment bill registered in Parliament.”
He said the party would recall its ministers from the government as there was no meaning of staying in it.
