Speaking at a function organised by the Morang chapter of Press Chautari Nepal on Saturday, Oli said the second largest party would do everything possible to hold the elections though the Maoist-Congress government was dragging its feet.
“We will hold the elections at any cost to avert a constitutional and political crisis in the country. The government should know it, otherwise we will make them know,” said the UML chief, adding that his party would put the government into a difficulty if it stood against the polls.
Oli criticised the government led by Pushpa Kamal Dahal saying that it had done nothing rather than appointing its supporters to various posts. “The government is against the elections. It just wants to prolong its tenure,” he charged.
On the occasion, the former prime minister conferred journalist Shanti Gautam Dahal with the Krishna Prasad Sigdel Youth Journalism Award.
