Missing girl, 7, found murdered
Feb 15, 2017- A seven-year-old girl was found dead in suspicious circumstances in Shivarj Municipality in the district on Tuesday. Police suspected that the minor might have been murdered after a rape.
The security personnel and the locals recovered the body of Sita Adhikari, of Chandrauta in Shivarj-10, in the Jabai stream. She was missing since Monday evening.
“The victim was bleeding. There was blood marks in her thigh region,” said Police Inspector Jhabindra Bhattarai, suspecting that she might have been raped and murdered.
Police have arrested a man in connection with the incident.
Meanwhile, the local people staged demonstrations in Chandrauta on Tuesday, demanding strong action against the guilty. Five various organisations submitted a memorandum to Area Police Office in Chandrauta

Gang-rape suspects remanded in custody
KAPILVASTU: The Kapilvastu District Court on Tuesday remanded two gang rape accused to five-day custody. The duo was arrested on suspicion of raping a 17-year-old Indian girl in Pakadi on February 8. According to police, five youths were involved in the incident that happened while the victim was visiting her maternal uncle’s house in Kapilvastu. The incident came to light after the perpetrators shared the video of the crime on social networking sites.
