The decision was taken by the second meeting of Cabinet held in Singha Durbar on Monday. According to Minister for Information and Communications Surendra Kumar Karki, the government recommended six names from the ruling Nepali Congress.
The prime minister’s party CPN (Maoist Centre) repeated the candidates recommended by the KP Sharma Oli-led government. The appointments of the preceding government were cancelled when Pushpa Kamal Dahal was appointed the prime minister with the backing of the NC and the Madhesi Morcha. On August 5 last year, the Dahal-led Cabinet decided to withdraw the recommendations.
Three of the candidates are from the Rastriya Prajatantra Party. From the Madhesi Morcha Sharmila Parajuli Dhakal has been recommended to head the Nepali Embassy in Oman.
The appointments were delayed due to differences between two major coalition partners over their share of the posts.
