These houses were built by CG Ashraya project, a corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiative of Chaudhary Foundation established to support earthquake-affected communities.
At a formal handing over ceremony organised in the VDC on Saturday, Rahul Chaudhary, executive director of Chaudhary Foundation handed out the plaques
of the houses to the affected communities. The Foundation, committed to providing safe abode for earthquake affected communities, had selected Kumpur as it was one of the most severely affected villages by the 2015 earthquake, says a statement issued by the Foundation.
Speaking at the ceremony, Chaudhary reiterated his commitment to support earthquake affected communities both in the short and long run. “These transitional shelter homes were built as per our commitment of providing safe housing for immediate use in the aftermath of the earthquake.
We are now focused on carrying out projects for long-term support on safe housing, quality education, and economic sustainability of the affected communities,” said Chaudhary, adding, “Our Foundation is also willing to join hands with the National Reconstruction Authority on its mission of rebuilding Nepal.”
