100 int’l vocational edu experts gather in Capital

Around 100 experts on vocational education from over a dozen countries have gathered in the Capital to share ideas and expertise on vocational qualification system. The four-day seminar, to be organised by the Council for Technical Education and Vocational Training with the support from the Nepal Vocational Qualification System (NVQS) Project and the Colombo Plan Staff College, kicks off on Monday. 

During the event, the participants will examine the issues and challenges in developing qualification framework of vocational education there by exchanging experiences and innovative practices in the development and implementation of the qualification framework. The NVQS Project was launched in Nepal in 2015 to enable and help the people to increase their chances in finding sustainable and decent employment.

As well as experts from South Asia, policy makers and top officials from Malaysia, Mongolia, Myanmar, Fiji, Papua New Guinea, Philippines, Thailand, and South Korea are participating in the seminar, the organisers said in a statement on Sunday.
