National Children Theatre Fest concludes
The eighth edition of the National Children Theatre Festival concluded in the Capital on Sunday. The jamboree drew to a close with the honouring artists and plays that stood out at the fest. Actor Supriya Nepal was honoured with Bal Koseli Best Actor Award in recognition of her performance at the play Agyanta ko Patti. While the Late Reshmi Prasad Sapkota Best Actor award was presented to Rohan Khadka (Kubeyla).
Likewise, director Prabhakar Neupane (Kumari ko Ghar) was honoured with the Late Chitra Bahadur Budhathoki Best Director award, while the play Jaleko Chim, directed by Sagar Kanchoo, bagged the Anton Chekhov Best Play Award.
Among other awardees were actor Elex Tamang (Shailee Theatre Emerging Actor award), and Samjhana Parajuli (Public Choice award). The fest saw staging of a total of 14 plays—such as Mukti ko Yathartha ra Chahana, Dr Aalo Kaalo, Kucho Army, and Boksi samaya—that revoved around motifs ranging from superstitions and morality to ethics and the arts. The plays were enacted by student-artists from schools around Kathmandu.
