Miss Chitwan preparations underway
Mar 8, 2017-
Organised by Bright Nepal, a regional beauty pageant Miss Chitwan is currently ongoing, where 28 participants vying for the crown have been preparing for the grand finale slated to be held on March 24. The participants have been engaged in various rounds of personality development workshops and trainings, carried out under the guidance of personalities from various sectors.
The personality development trainings have been mentored by media personality and Miss Nepal 2002 Malvika Subba. “It’s been a great expeience engaging with so many talented aspirants,” said Subba, in a conversation with the Post, “Beauty pageants like this, where one is judged based on her overall strenghts, can be tremendously helpful for the all-around development of the participants.” Subba went on, “Perception of beauty pageants has changed drastically of late. The number of contestants has also increased and the families are supportive.”
Further, speaking about the importance of workshops and trainings in such platforms, Subba said, “I was also born and brought up in a middle-class family. The Miss Nepal training played a great role in turning me into what I am today.”
The training sessions for Miss Chitwan started from February 12. Co-ordinator of organisers Bright Nepal, Gaurav Babu Dhakal, said, “We’ve led the participants through various rounds of interactive sessions, so as to boost their confidence and to provide them with insights that would prove helpful not only for this pageant but for their life.”
The first ever Mister and Miss Chitwan beauty pageant was held in 2002. After a long hiatus, the second iteration of the regional pageant was held in 2015 where Sitoshna Ban was announced the winner.
The winner of Miss Chitwan will go on to represent the district at the Hidden Treasure Miss Nepal.
