Gunman shoots at teacher
A school teacher was critically injured after he was shot in the head by an unidentified gunman in Rautahat on Tuesday night.A school teacher was critically injured after he was shot in the head by an unidentified gunman in Rautahat on Tuesday night.
Police said Ramekbal Yadav of Brindaban Village Council-3 was shot at while he was asleep in his bedroom. Yadav was rushed to Chure Hill Hospital in Hetauda after the incident.
Police said the motive behind the attack was not immediately clear.
Yadav, who teaches at a school in Makwanpur, had come home on a leave to help his daughter, who is taking this year’s Secondary Education Examinations.
Two Indian men held with firearms
Meanwhile, police arrested two Indian men with two pistols and eight bullets from Mathiya on Tuesday night. Ranjan Sah and Jalandhar Sah, both from East Champaran district of the Indian state of Bihar, were held during a security check up.
According to Superintendent of Police Yangya Binod Pokharel said the duo could be involved in firearm smuggling trade.
