- Post Report, Kathmandu

Mar 26, 2017-

The main opposition CPN-UML has decided to hold a gathering of the party’s cadres in Bardibas on March 29 and 30 to discuss ways to resume the stalled publicity campaign in Province 2.

Following a clash between the cadres of the Sanghiya Loktantrik Madhesi Morcha and the security forces in Maleth of Saptari on March 6, in which five people died ultimately, the UML had postponed its Mechi-Mahakali Campaign by three days, skipping it in Province 2 at the moment.

The campaign resumed in Hetauda on March 10 and concluded with a mass meeting in Surkhet.

The party’s Standing Committee had decided to hold the stalled campaign in Province 2 soon. The meeting had also decided to resume the campaign a week after the two-day gathering in Mahottari.

According to party secretary and publicity department chief Yogesh Bhattarai, the respective district committees of Province 2 have been directed to finalise the functions including mass meetings and public interactions.

Meanwhile, Chairman of the Sanghiya Samajbadi Forum Nepal Upendra Yadav on Saturday said the UML was not a “permanent enemy” of the Morcha.
