Chairman of the Sanghiya Samajbadi Forum Nepal Upendra Yadav has warned of people’s revolt if the state continues ‘killing’ innocent people in Madhes.Chairman of the Sanghiya Samajbadi Forum Nepal Upendra Yadav has warned of people’s revolt if the state continues ‘killing’ innocent people in Madhes.
“We follow peaceful politics and non-violence. But the youths in Madhes will be compelled to raise weapons if the state continues killing innocent Madhesi people,” said Yadav, while addressing a condolence meet organised in Maleth, Saptari, on Sunday. The programme was organised near the incident site where five Madhesi Morcha supporters died in the clash with the security personnel on March 6.
Reiterating that the present political crisis in the country should be resolved peacefully by amending the constitution, Yadav said, “If the government refuses to address the demand of Madhes the present constitution will be abrogated through people’s revolt.”
He asserted that the Madhesi Morcha would continue their protest unless their demands were addressed by amending constitution. The local elections cannot be held without holding the federal and provincial polls, he added.
Tarai Madhes Loktantrik Party Chairman Mahantha Thakur, Sadbhawana Party Chairman Rajendra Mahato, Rastriya Madhes Samajbadi Party Chairman Sharad Singh Bhandari, Tarai Madhes Sadbhawana Party Chief Mahendra Yadav, among other Morcha leaders, also addressed the function.
