KMC announces 30-pt work plan to better Capital

The metropolis newly appointed Chief Executive Officer Ishwor Poudel said the work plan was developed to bring positive changes in the metropolis before handing over responsibility to new mayor of the KMC to be elected by the upcoming local polls.
The work plan also proposes improving and developing the city’s public transportation system, introducing better waste management plan, and launching city greenery and gentrification programmes.
Giving continuity to the Kathmandu Ujyalo programme and reconstruction of the earthquake-ravaged historical monuments are also among items listed on the work plan.
To mobilise the metropolis staff effectively in their areas of works, the KMC has also envisioned dividing their duties under three shifts. The work plan also proposes daily inspection of the city by the metropolitan staff. The KMC has appointed Pradip Kumar Rai (Byakul Maila), lyricist of the national anthem, as its development ambassador.
