Tribhuvan University (TU) and Nepal Engineering College ‘B’ will clash in the inaugural match of University Cricket Cup at the TU Stadium in Kirtipur on Tuesday.

In all, 16 college teams from Kathmandu Valley are taking part in the eight-day knockout tournament organised by University Cricket Club. Five best cricketers and three rising stars will one-year free training facility as well as the opportunity to compete in various tournaments. The eventual champions will receive Rs 100,000 and the runners-up will get Rs 50,000. 

Others to compete in the T20 tournament include Patan Campus, Nist, NEC ‘A’, Global, St Lawarence, Shanker Dev, SS College, Patan Academy of Health Sciences, Cosmos, Nepal Commerce Campus, Rajarshi, K&K, Golden Gate and KU School of Arts. The tournament sees two matches each day with Global taking on NEC ‘A’ in the second game on Tuesday.
