Stating that there have been complaints against I/NGOs on election code violations, Local Development Officer Narayan Acharya said that the concerned organisations have been instructed to the follow election code.
Under the election code, the I/NGOs in Gorkha have also been told to halt the distribution process of aid and relief materials in the earthquake-affected villages.
Although the District Natural Disaster Rescue Committee and District Administration Office had already directed the local
I/NGOs to stop distributing relief materials in the quake-hit villages, the instruction remained largely unheeded.
The DCC has instructed the District Police Office to arrest those who have been found breaching the election code.
Meanwhile, Chief District Officer Jitendra Basnet said his office has been holding meetings with the local representatives of the political parties to ensure free and fair elections. Sixteen political parties in the district have pledged to hold impartial elections so far, he added.
