Malaysia’s exports jumps over 26pc in Feb

Malaysia’s exports reached 71.77 billion ringgit (16.2 billion US dollars) in February, a 26.5 jump compared with the same period of last year. Imports in February also grew by 27.7 percent to 63.06 billion ringgit, helping total trade in the month expand by 27.1 percent, according to figures released by the International Trade and Industry Ministry on Wednesday. The ministry said expansion in trade was seen with all major trading partners, including ASEAN, China, the European Union and the United States. Exports to China grew by 47.6 percent to 9.57 billion ringgit, due to higher exports of electrical and electronics products as well as commodities such as petroleum productsand rubber.
