- Post Report, Kathmandu

Apr 6, 2017-

Government ministers will not be allowed to participate in political activities from May 2—the day the Election Commission (EC) is scheduled to publish the final list of candidates and allot them electoral symbols. EC Spokesperson Surya Prasad Sharma said that a decision to this effect has been taken so as to strictly enforce the election code of conduct to stop the influence of ministers in local polls slate for May 14.  The poll body has also decided to bar ministers from using government facilities, including cars while travelling to districts.
