Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Ayodhee Prasad Yadav on Thursday called on the government to take a concrete decision on concerns expressed by the Madhes-based parties regarding the May 14 elections.
Addressing the two-day training of trainers on election management and conduction organised by the the Election Commission in Godavari, Lalitpur, CEC Yadav said the poll body would face difficulty [in conducting elections] if “the government does not take a concrete decision” on the matter at the earliest.
“We have to start printing ballot papers and voter ID cards in the Tarai-Madhes region which has high number of voters,” said Yadav.
Almost half of the voters are listed in 20 districts of the Tarai. (PR)
