Maharjan wins top prize

Making it to the final round after winning the 75kg category title, Maharjan saw of the challenges of five other contestants of the sixth edition of the bodybuilding championship organised by Nepal Bodybuilding and Fitness Association.
Other champions to make it to final round were Kamal Bhandari (55kg division) of Pokhara, Sujan Tamang (60kg) of Kathmandu, Rojin Bajracharya (65kg) of Kathmandu, former champion Ram Bahadur Dahal (70kg) and Grish Maharjan (above 75kg) of Kathmandu.
Mr Himalaya earned Rs 250,000 top prize in addition to Rs 25,000 he received for winning his weight category. All six bodybuilders won Rs 25,0000 each for winning their weight division before having a shot at the top prize.
Bishuram KC, Sukdev Karki and Ramesh Karki claimed the top three positions in the Fitness competition for men’s below 170cm of height. Ratish Bajracharya, Sajan Aryal and Anuj Maskey won the podium places in men’s taller than 170cm.
Junu Shrestha won Women’s Athletic Phisique title ahead of Aarati Kafle and Rajani Thapa. Winners in both the categories earned Rs 25,000 each.
