‘UML creating rift between Hills and Madhes’
Apr 10, 2017-
Nepali Congress (NC) President Sher Bahadur Deuba has accused the CPN-UML of hatching conspiracies to create a rift between the people of Mountains, Hills and Madhes.
Addressing a party’s mass meeting in Attariya of Kailali district on Sunday, the NC chief claimed the UML was presenting itself irresponsibly in the country and “the development of the country is possible only under the NC leadership”. Stating that the NC has come up with the concept of the social security allowance, Deuba said the UML just sought cheap popularity by adopting that very policy and agenda. He also assured that the NC would double the current social security allowance to elderly, single women and helpless people if they emerge victorious in the local level election slated for May 14.
Senior NC leader Ram Chandra Poudel, General Secretary Sashank Koirala, Krishna Sitaula among other central leaders addressed the function that marked the beginning of the NC’s poll campaign. (PR)
