Ring Road cleanup campaign kicks off

A cleanup drive was launched along the Ring Road on Saturday as an extension of Bagmati cleanup campaign. Earlier on the 200th week of Bagmati Cleanup campaign, Chief Secretary Som Lal Subedi had issued a 10-point plan to extend the programme. The cleaning campaign, which began from Green City Hospital along the Ring Road, managed 10 metric tonnes of waste. Another 10 metric tonnes of solid waste was scooped out from the Buddhanagar area as per the scheduled programme under the Bagmati cleanup campaign, according to campaigner Umesh Bohora.
Around 300 people, including representatives of the high-powered Bagmati Civilization Integrated Development Committee and Kathmandu Metropolis, personnel from Nepal Army, Nepal Police and Armed Police, members of public
and school students participated in the cleaning campaign led by Minister for Urban Development Arjun Narshing KC.
