Apr 22, 2017-
The Samyukta Loktantrik Madhesi Morcha disrupted education-related training programmes in Janakpur-14 on Friday.
Police briefly detained 13 SLMM activists as they attempted to foil the training programme organised by the District Election Office in the meeting hall of the Division Road Office, Mujeliya. The agitating cadres had gathered in front of the office at around 10am to disrupt the programme.
The SLMM supporters demonstrated in front of the District Police Office, demanding the release of their leaders. Police freed the detained protesters after two and a half hours.
The election office resumed the training in the afternoon as the protesters were dispersed from the venue. But the training was stopped again after the SLMM activists obstructed vehicular movement along the Janakpur-Dhalkebar road.
Sanjaya Singh, Dhanusha chairman of the dissolved Sadbhawana Party, warned that they would disrupt any programmes related to the local elections.
