4 killed in Palpa truck accident

Four persons, including three members of a family, died in a truck accident at Tinau-3 in Palpa on Sunday.  

The vehicle (Lu 1 Kha 9031) swerved off the road and plunged around 200 metres below at Bhalayabas in Tinau Village Council. The truck was heading to Marek in Tinau from Sunawal of Nawalparasi district to ferry limestone. 

Police identified the deceased as driver Puran Saru (27) of Tinau-6, his wife Bal Kumari (24) and son Himesh (5). The driver’s assistant Bimal Kanauje Magar (22) was also killed in the incident. 

Meanwhile the bodies of five pilgrims killed in Kagbeni bus accident on Saturday were taken to Kathmandu on Sunday for post-mortem.  Five persons were killed and 30 others injured when the vehicle carrying pilgrims overturned at Bahragaun Muktichhetra-4. Fourteen critically injured passengers are receiving treatment in Pokhara.
