Apr 27, 2017-

Poet Dinesh Adhikari’s new book, Bhariyako Bhugol (World of a Porter), is slated for release this weekend. The book will be released on the occasion of Paleti Series, to be held this Friday.

The upcoming Paleti concert will exclusively feature Adhikari’s songs and poems. The event will also host a poetry recital by the poet himself.

A civil servant by profession, poet by passion, Adhikari went on to win the premier literary honour of the country Madan Puraskar in 1999, for his work Aritikta Abhilekh. For his work Indrajatra (1994), Adhikari bagged the Sajha Purashkar.

Adhikari’s work is acclaimed for its evocative presentation of life, struggle and dreams of a Nepali commoner.

About Adhikari, fellow poet Shrawan Mukarung has said, “In terms of creative skills, Dinesh Adhikari probably comes second to Bhupi Sherchan.”

Adhikari has over 12 books of poetry and lyrics to his credit.

Bhariyako Bhugol is published by Nepalaya.
