Silwal, who is accused of doctoring his performance evaluation report, was hospitalised on April 24, the same day he was detained by a police team for probe.
According to family sources, he left the hospital in the evening. He feared arrest with the suspension of Chief Justice Sushila Karki, following the registration of an impeachment motion against her in the Legislature-Parliament on Sunday.
The apex court, following Silwal’s petition, had overturned the government’s decision to appoint DIG Jaya Bahadur Chand as the chief of the Nepal Police, ruling that Silwal was the forerunner among all the contenders for the police chief’s post.
A forensic report on Friday showed that Silwal’s performance report was superimposed from that of incumbent IGP Prakash Aryal, who had got the top score. A final verdict in the case is due on Tuesday.
