America to face Ghana in friendly
May 3, 2017-
The United States will take on old rivals Ghana in a friendly international on July 1 as they build-up to the Concacaf Gold Cup, it was confirmed on Monday. US Soccer said in a statement the match would take place at the Pratt & Whitney Stadium in East Hartford, Connecticut. The US and Ghana have become the best of enemies on the World Cup stage, meeting at the last three tournaments dating back to 2006. The Ghanaians won an extra-time thriller 2-1 to advance in the last 16 of the 2010 World Cup. The Americans then exacted revenge at the 2014 finals in Brazil, winning their group game 2-1 to advance from the Group of Death behind eventual winners Germany.
