They say some women fear fire

Some women simply become it

I feared fire too, but now I am the flame

I hated my scars too, but now I

flaunt them

Here goes my story:

I was just a school girl passing by

Giggling with my girls and

Dancing with my guys

But then they came,

My books were all snatched away

In that road

And so was my breath and blood

I suffered but I survived

It took me months to stand upright

And a year to face the crowd

Pain of burns and pain of blemishes

I had never chosen that fate for me

But you don’t always get to choose

And now I have made my choice

I choose to be the hero of my life

Rather than the victim

I choose to be brave and strong

I choose happiness and smile

I choose not to be ashamed of how I look

For I know looks will fade with age

But I see my beautiful inner self

And I know I am stunning

Which forever I will stay.
