Dozens elected unopposed
Dozens of candidates contesting in the local level elections have been elected unopposed in the districts of Dolpa, Gorkha, Myagdi and Manang.Dozens of candidates contesting in the local level elections have been elected unopposed in the districts of Dolpa, Gorkha, Myagdi and Manang. As many as 89 candidates, including a chairperson and a vice chairperson of a village council and 22 ward chairpersons, were elected unopposed in Dolpa. Most of the winners are the CPN-UML candidates. UML candidate Tasi Tundup Gurung was elected unopposed as the chairman of Shey-phoksundo Village Council. All nine ward chairpersons and majority of ward members were also elected unopposed in the village council.
Similarly, the vice chairperson and four ward chairpersons were also unopposed in Dolpobuddha Village Council. According to district election office, 89 candidates for various posts were elected unopposed in Dolpa.
In Gorkha, three ward chairpersons were elected unopposed from Chumnubri Village Council. All the elected representatives were Nepali Congress (NC) candidates. Twelve ward members were also elected unopposed during Tuesday’s candidate nomination process. NC candidate Ek Bahadur Garbuja has been elected unopposed from ward No 4 of Raghuganga Village Council in Myagdi district.
In Manang, NC candidate Mingma Chhiring Lama was also elected chairpersons of Narphu Village Council.
