The 46-year-old actor will make her comeback to the silver screen with the movie Dear Maya, whose trailer was released on Thursday.
As the actress gets ready to make a return with the flim, she has piqued curiosity of movie lovers with her amazing transformation for her role.
In the teaser of the film, which was shared by the actress on the social media, Manisha looks unrecognisable as an old lady with a wrinkled face. The video, whose title reads ‘Manisha Koirala never seen before’, has gone viral on social networking platforms.
Written and directed by Sunaina Bhatnagar, under the banner of Bake My Cake Films, Dear Maya marks Manisha’s comeback after a long hiatus as she was undergoing treatment for cancer.
Later this year, Manisha is also slated to essay the legendary actress Nargis in the Sanjay Dutt biopic which will see Ranbir Kapoor playing the role of Dutt. Speaking about the role she told IANS, “Mukesh Chhabra (casting director) who is like a little brother to me, messaged me while I was in Nepal. Soon I learnt that Raju Hirani wanted me to play Nargis ji’s part in the biopic. I was little reluctant and wondered—Ranbir Kapoor’s mom? There is just about 10 years age gap between us, and Aishwarya’s just played the romantic lead with him. How can I play the mother? But Hirani made me understand that it’s Nargis Dutt’s role and not Ranbir Kapoor’s mom’s role. I had to look from that angle.”
