Basantapur, and thereabouts, for me is a combination of tradition and culture with modern lifestyle, an amalgamation of its majestic buildings and temples woven intricately in tandem with people living and culture evolving around it. 

I have always seen Basantapur as this grand entity where the gigantic Gaddhi Baithak, the mystical Swet Bhairav, the fearsome stance of the Kal Bhairav, harmoniously co-exist with mere mortals who lead very simple lives.  In this collection are photographs that attempt to capture the essence of this place and its people that I have grown up picturing. 

These photographs are stitched panoramas of multiple shots because in the process of photographing this beautiful place I realised that even the widest of lenses fail to capture this hallowed space as it should be.
